Website Taken Urban Culture Store
Custom responsive WordPress web experience and content architecture for Taken Store, an influential urban streetwear, skate, and sneaker boutique situated in an iconic historic building in downtown Porto.
1. Translating Porto Street Culture into a Digital Boutique
Located in a beautifully preserved historic building in the heart of Oporto, Taken Urban Culture Store is one of Northern Portugal's foundational epicenters for skate culture, premium streetwear, sneakerhead drops, and urban art. The brand needed an online presence that mirrored their industrial-meets-historic store aesthetics while providing a flexible editorial platform for community news.
Autonomous Content Architecture on WordPress
Engineered using a heavily customized, lightweight WordPress architecture that allowed store staff to autonomously publish sneaker launch announcements, skate video premieres, and brand collaboration lookbooks without developer intervention.
2. Content Architecture & Community Hub
The website was designed as a living pulse of the local urban scene:
- Urban Culture Journal (Streetwear News): Frequent editorial updates covering limited-edition sneaker drops (Nike SB, Adidas Originals, Vans Pro), streetwear capsule reviews (Carhartt WIP, Stüssy), and independent graphic apparel.
- Skate & Event Agenda: Calendar of local skate contests, street jams, underground music DJ sets, and art exhibitions hosted in-store.
- Brand Collaboration Showcases: Curated brand index highlighting domestic and international label partnerships.
- Historic Store Showcase & Location Guide: Highlighting the store's architectural heritage in downtown Porto, including opening hours, directions, and social channels.
3. Urban Minimalist Visual Language
Built with a raw, modernist aesthetic: lowercase sans-serif typography, stark black-and-white grids, and full-bleed photography capturing Porto's vibrant street culture.
