Azores Natur Website
Official conference website and delegate registration portal designed and coded from scratch for the Azores Natur 6th Rural Tourism Biennial on São Jorge Island, commissioned by the Regional Board of Tourism.
1. Celebrating Nature & Rural Tourism in the Mid-Atlantic
The Azores Natur 6th Rural Tourism Biennial was a landmark international conference organized by the Regional Tourism Board of the Azores. Staged at the Velas Municipal Auditorium on the dramatic island of São Jorge, the event convened hotel owners, ecotourism specialists, academics, journalists, and public officials to debate the future of sustainable tourism across the archipelago.
Turnkey Front-End Execution: From Concept to Production Code
Beyond UI/UX design, this project was coded entirely from the ground up in semantic HTML5, modular CSS, and JavaScript, ensuring rapid loading speeds on rural island connections while delivering an evocative visual tribute to the Azorean landscape.
2. Poetic Brand Identity & Conference Architecture
The digital experience captured the pristine beauty of the Azores through thoughtful visual and informational design:
- Poetic Brand Identity: The conference theme guided the visual narrative: "The nature of the islands where myriad shades of green are interwoven with hundreds of streams, waterfalls, and waterways."
- Conference Information Taxonomy: Structured navigation encompassing Conference Overview, Strategic Debate Objectives, Online Delegate Registration, Keynote Speaker Profiles, Press Releases, and Contact Directories.
- Travel Logistics for São Jorge: Dedicated guidance for attendees traveling between islands, including inter-island flights, ferry connections to Velas harbor, and local rural accommodation partners.
- Bilingual Localization: English and Portuguese language toggle enabling international ecotourism delegates and journalists to register and review panel schedules.
3. Performance Optimization
Optimized image compression and lightweight typography ensured instantaneous load times for delegates browsing schedules on smartphones throughout the conference sessions.
